‘A momentous day in NSW’: New preschool education program announced

NSW Education Minister Sarah Mitchell says today is a “momentous day for NSW”, following the state government’s announcement of a new year of play-based learning for children before they attend school.

“By doing this today, by making it really clear that as a government we believe in early childhood education, we know that early learning matters, we want to invest in your workforce so that we can help grow and provide, as the Premier said, a universal year of free, pre-kindergarten for every child in NSW by 2030,” she said during a media conference on Thursday.

“If you get quality early childhood education in the year before school it can literally change the trajectory of the life of a child.”Read MoreThe Australian
