What You’ll Be Doing:
The Associate Director of Marketing plays a key role in supporting Vital Decisions’ revenue growth, sales enablement, thought leadership, corporate culture and corporate branding and awareness objectives through development, management and execution of marketing strategies and activities, and management of marketing personnel. The Associate Director also serves as a point of contact on behalf of Marketing for the entire organization and external entities. This role is highly collaborative within Marketing and other departments, providing strategic insight and tactical execution to meet organizational objectives and results. This role exhibits a broad application of Marketing principles, concepts and how it ties to other related fields.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conceive of, assign individual contributors and develop content across communication channels, (i.e., print, website, scripting, email, video, PR) to bring awareness and greater understanding of Vital Decisions’ products and services.
Develop new ideas and oversee social media, website and collateral development.
Foster Thought Leadership by engaging with subject matter experts in the development of white papers, webinars, abstracts, presentations, insight papers and more. Engage with partner organizations to enable Thought Leadership opportunities.
Lead Generation & Sales Enablement
Conceive of, develop, manage and execute lead generation marketing campaigns, including targets, theme, messaging, modality, schedule and budget.
Oversee and aid in the preparation of materials and presentations for clients and partners. Coordinate with Strategic Solutions on specific tasks to deliver the Vital Decisions message in the most effective manner.
Provide direction to ensure Vital Decisions’ Salesforce database is updated regarding marketing campaigns, leads and account targets. Identify ideas to further build the target database, i.e., from associations, conference information or other sources.
Management & Leadership
Lead the execution of marketing programs from start to finish, driving collaboration with the stakeholders and leveraging the right internal processes.
Manage the activities of individual contributors in the Marketing department with accountability for key results.
Shape and lead professional development opportunities within Marketing.
Contribute to development of Marketing budget in collaboration with VP.
Represent Marketing in external and internal meetings and events as required.
Partner with creative teams, other internal stakeholders, and external agencies and vendors; Negotiate contract terms for approval by VP or CEO.
Create and maintain process documents related to marketing activities.
Own development, enhancement, revision and approval processes for all product/program related communications
Support product development and launch through messaging and communications of value and impact.
Initiate and provide guidance on development of conference calendar and engage with associated organizations to execute on Vital Decisions’ presence.
Evaluate the impact of marketing programs and initiatives in achieving their stated objectives, including impact on lead generation and deal flow, brand awareness and thought leadership presence.
Own the production of regular marketing reports and dashboards distributed to senior management.
Client Services & Retention
Support Client Services department in idea generation and development of collateral, campaigns, case studies, other communications and reporting to foster client retention.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree with significant coursework in business administration, economics, marketing, communications or public relations, with Master’s degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Six to nine (6 to 9) years relevant work experience in marketing, communications, public relations or business development roles
Experience in healthcare or insurance industry highly preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Experience in conceptualizing and developing marketing plans and campaigns
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience in digital and direct response marketing
Experience with marketing automation and CRM tools
Self-motivated, seeks to participate in support of new projects, business growth and corporate initiatives
Technically savvy (ability to use online resources for research, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ability to use Salesforce, marketing automation, design tools and others as required)
Strives to learn new ways to perform tasks that improve the efficiency or outcome
Collaboration skills necessary to work with all departments within the organization to satisfy requests on behalf of Marketing
Strong problem-solving ability, including metrics-driven thinking
Must understand and respect the importance of confidentiality in our industry and be able to maintain a professional demeanor while representing Vital Decisions
Ability to manage one to several individual contributors
Ability to provide formal and informal evaluation and feedback to individual contributors
Ability to travel as necessary
This is a remote position, working from your home office. Occasional overnight travel to conferences and corporate headquarters; 3-5 times per year.
