Tesla owner Elon Musk is accusing Twitter of fraud saying the social media giant misled him before he agreed to a $US44 billion buyout.
Mr Musk made the claims on Thursday as he prepares to fight Twitter on a lawsuit forcing him to complete the buyout.
The number of bot accounts remains disputed with Twitter maintaining it is less than five per cent of total activity on the site.
The platform is also saying Mr Musk did not have the right to walk away from the deal if the count was found to be wrong.
Twitter says it has complied with all its obligations in the deal and will vote with shareholders on the merger in September.Read MoreThe Australian
