Firefighters Battle 12,000-Acre Jersey Wildfire

A wildfire that broke out in a New Jersey state forest had grown to 12,000 acres and was 70 percent contained as of Monday, June 20, according to fire officials. The fire, dubbed the Mullica River Fire, broke out Sunday afternoon in the Wharton State Forest. Firefighters worked Monday as the fire threatened 18 structures and sent smoke billowing into the air.
