With an aim to improve tourism in Kerala, the state has initiated responsible tourism clubs all through the state. The Kerala state government is willing to engage the local communities and guarantee responsible travel. Aside from boosting tourism, these tourism clubs seek to conserve the local art and culture and put green protocols into practice.
In tune with the formerly launched Destination Challenge, this new plan will help the Kerala government to augment sustainability and accountability. In the course of the next four years, the Destination Challenge is considering identifying and developing 500 tourism destinations.
The Kerala tourism division has already started the initial set of responsible tourism clubs at college and university level. This was done in association with the higher education department of Kerala.
Kozhikode is one of most well-known ports in Kerala, and is one of those places which will get to see an all-inclusive responsible tourism growth. In three years, the Kerala state government is also supposedly aiming to develop Beypore as a global tourism hub. The state-level scheme was rolled out with the attendance of PA Mohamed Riyas, the Tourism Minister of Kerala.
Near the commencement of the scheme, the Left government in Kerala is contemplating to set up at least 100 Responsible Tourism Clubs during the course of this year. Around 1000 clubs are being thought of in the course of three years.
